The School of Justice Tactical Training Facility (SOJTTF) Project included the demolition of three sides of the building, upgrading the structure, and an Addition to a Gymnasium constructed in the 1940’s. The new building consists of an all-inclusive public safety training center to support Special Response Team/Correctional Emergency Response Training, Homeland Security and Fire Rescue high liability training. The training center will provide scenario role play opportunities, repelling capability, use of training ammunition, isolation drills, scenario rooms, virtual judgment simulation, tactical driving simulations, defense tactics training and mock courtroom.

The Miami-Dade College Dyer Project consisted of the renovation/remodel of approximately 162,250 GSF on three floors of an existing Federal Courthouse constructed in 1932 that was connected on all three floors and basement of the Atkins Building which was constructed much later.

The work was performed in phases including:

• Abatement
• Security separation from the Atkins Building
• Repairs, cleaning and waterproofing of the exterior historical wall system
• Replacement of the existing windows
• Renovations to include a Theater, Robotics Lab, classrooms, instructional facilities, laboratories, electronic classrooms, multipurpose facilities, common areas, exhibit spaces, meeting/conference facilities, offices, gallery spaces, fashion runway, student gathering spaces, study areas, library facilities, storage, campus support facilities.
